Store Safety — Privacy Policy

Store Safety is a Shopify app that backs up a store's catalogue, content and themes, lets the merchant restore them, and reports leftover code from uninstalled apps. This page explains exactly what the app stores and why.
What we collect
- Store data you asked us to back up: products, variants, inventory quantities, collections, pages, blog posts, navigation menus and theme files. This is the product — we keep copies so you can restore them.
- Store identity: your myshopify domain, store name, plan and the email address you give us for alerts.
- Nothing about your customers. We do not read, store or process customer records, orders, payments or personal data of your shoppers. The app does not request access to them.
How we use it
Only to provide the service: taking scheduled backups, letting you browse and restore them, comparing backups to alert you to changes, and scanning theme files for leftover code. We do not sell data, share it with third parties for marketing, or use it to train anything.
Where it lives and how long
Backups are stored encrypted at rest on servers in the United States. Each backup is kept for the retention period of your plan (30 days on Basic, one year on Pro) and then deleted. You can delete every backup at any time from Settings → Delete all backups.
When you uninstall
Backups stop immediately. Your data is deleted 30 days after uninstall, or right away if Shopify sends us a deletion request on your behalf (the standard shop/redact webhook).
Third parties
- Shopify — the app runs inside your Shopify admin and reads/writes your store through the Shopify API with the permissions you approved at install.
- Email delivery — alert emails are sent through a transactional email provider; the only data shared is your alert address and the alert text.
- Hosting — the app and its storage run on cloud infrastructure providers under standard data-processing terms.

Ask us for a copy of what we hold, or to delete it, by emailing the address below. We answer within 7 days.
